Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer

We are looking for a highly motivated Marketing Assistant / Graphic Designer. This person will report to the vice president of marketing. The Marketing Assistant/ Graphic Designer will provide support in the Marketing Department.

Location:
  • Calgary, Alberta
Qualifications of the position:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Web design background with thorough knowledge of HTML.
  • Some marketing and pre-press experience.
  • Computer software working experience with Corel Graphics or Adobe Illustrator, Excel, Flash, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Effectively manage all processes, i.e. time management, work to deadlines, multitask etc.
  • Self–starter and problem solver with an ability to proactively identify areas where support can be provided.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • Self taught with minimum 4 years industry experience or a degree in related field accepted.
Responsibilities of the position:
  • Assist in updates to existing websites, marketing materials, presentations and reports on a daily, monthly, quarterly and annual basis respectively
  • Assist in developing brochures, business card, flyers, postcards and other related materials
  • Provide support in execution of marketing campaigns
  • Operate personal computer with the following software: Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, PowerPoint, Flash, Word and Excel.
  • Provide administrative support to the Marketing Director – assist with report preparation and maintenance
  • Timely communication of printed materials to Sales via email
  • Conduct Internet research for information required for updates to existing material or required for new developments
  • Be adaptable and flexible with ability to accept, create and manage change
  • Display a willingness to quickly learn product lines, workflows, and procedures
  • Report any general concerns or suggestions to department supervisor
  • Work with various affiliates and partners (Affinity+ Program, HomeRenovationGuide, Ontario Equity, Alberta Equity, etc.), lenders and mortgage agents
  • Conduct outbound calls to various individuals and associates depending on what is necessary to complete projects
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
