- Bank of Canada releases Monetary Policy Report Update
OTTAWA, Ontario, August 1, 2001 — The Bank of Canada today released its Update to the May Monetary Policy Report, in which it discusses economic and financial trends in the context of Canada's inflation-control strategy.

OTTAWA, Ontario, August 9, 2001 — The seasonally adjusted annual rate* of housing starts in Canada decreased by 13.4 per cent in July to 151,800 units compared with 175,300 units in June, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
- Housing Starts Up This Year and Strong in 2002, Renovation Spending Continues to Rise
OTTAWA, Ontario, August 14, 2001 — Housing starts in Canada are expected to reach 158,000 units this year and 156,600 in 2002, compared to 151,653 in 2000, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) third quarter CMHC Housing Outlook report.
